| Siblings: Rob Character Evolution Ep. 5: Not-the-Final Fantasy XII
You'll immediately notice one thing: Rob's pinker. I decided I wanted to update the skintones, so Rob became more pale. This reflects how I really am, a pale pale white boy. I finally got the nose to look right in this angle, which makes it a winner in my book.
Many of you will notice the other change: Rob has a goatee now. Before it was just sideburns. As you probably know, Rob is based heavily on myself. When people see real pictures of me, they notice the big difference between me and my animated counterpart is the fact that I have a goatee and the animated me does not. These people usually request for Siblings Rob to gain a goatee. I personally like animated Rob without the goatee, but I figured I'd go ahead and give him a small one in the cartoon just to change it up.
And here's the side view of the head. Notice how the nose has changed. Gone are the huge noses, replaced with a better, more accurate one. It kind of reminds me of the nose I made for Rob in episode 0.
Here's a less detailed version of the front view. Scaling down the normal view would've looked weird, so I just redrew it smaller.
Here's a shot where I had Rob being really close to the screen. One of the few times in the series where I tried to define the nostrils via shadow. The only other time I recall doing that was back in episode 1 when Rob does the whole "Bet I could KILL a man!" line.
Another somewhat new angle. I tried to do something similar to what I did in episode 3, the angle looking up at Rob. This one looks a little better than that one did, although the sideburns are a little too poofy. Also, I forgot to shade the eyes and nose. Oops.
Here's the smaller side view I did for Rob in a few shots. Unlike the other 'small version of an angle I already did', this one is still detailed and shaded. It's a nifty one.
Another 'angle that already existed' I redrew for this episode. I did this one because I needed an angle that was new and fully moveable. So I redrew it. Not as good as the original, but it's still pretty good I'd say. |
